Chukkar Farm is synonymous with weddings, the arts, horses and polo. Nevertheless, to demonstrate it’s ever-reaching purpose. potential and value to the community, Chukkar Farm Polo Club and Event Facility is expanding into classic car events.
2016 Concours d’Elegance
In May of next year, Atlanta will be recognized as the latest city to host a Concours d’Elegance, also known as a gathering of prestigious cars. Our city of heat will soon join the ranks of Pinehurst, Amelia Island and Hilton Head with respect to classic car shows.
As a precursor – or a warm-up, if you will – the Atlanta Motoring Festival will stage a “soft opening” to this intended-annual car event at Chukkar Farm Polo Club on Sunday, May 17th. Adherent with Chukkar Farm’s philanathropic philosophy, all proceeds collected by the Atlanta Motoring Festival benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
What To Expect This Year
This year’s opening will sport 110 classic cars from across the country, as well as some newer models. Duesenberg, Packard, Corvette, Rolls Royce (and more) will each be represented and judged. An exceptional highlight to this car show will be a rare 1957 Rolls Royce Phantom V EX44, originally developed as the experimental vehicle for eventual production in 1959.
A Lesson In History With An Eye To The Future
The focus of this “soft opening” is on educating the general public and stimulating interest in next year’s prestigious car show – a professional competition of even more entries.
As with all family events at Chukkar Farm, food and beverages will be available for sale. Live jazz music will accompany and complement this all-too rare viewing of these fine classic cars.
