Learn to Play Polo!

~Please scroll down for contact info about lessons and games~

Chukkar Farm is a recreational polo facility whose purpose is to introduce people to the exciting world of polo and all of it’s fine traditions. We teach new players to ride and play polo in a safe and fun atmosphere with emphasis on fundamental skills. We offer polo lessons for juniors and adults throughout the year. Even if you don’t own a horse or know how to ride, we can teach you on our trained, safe polo ponies. We’ll provide everything that you need to get started.

In a way, polo here is designed for the weekender, much like the weekend golfer. It is not our desire to create world class polo stars, but rather to teach polo as an attainable, enjoyable recreational sport. During the instruction, individuals who have never played polo learn everything necessary to participate in a match. Even students who have never ridden are able to participate in the activities with a few riding lessons. Our polo instruction is available for juniors and adults. The Chukkar Farm Polo Academy provides instructors, horses, tack and mallets.

Meet Chukkar Farm’s Polo Instructor, Sue Lukashevich!

Our Polo Professional, Sue Lukashevich is our club instructor. Sue has played polo, taught polo, and trained polo ponies from Los Angeles, CA to West Palm Beach, FL.  She has competed in many USPA tournaments including winning the first USPA Women’s Open held at The Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA in 1994.  Her wide range of talents enables her to coach the “Total Player;” a player who not only knows the rules and skills for polo, but one who rides with confidence and grace, and has an appreciation for their equine teammates and get the most out of them.
