unnamed (1)Chukkar Farm originated as a polo facility and grew into hosting weddings, private events, corporate retreats, team building events, outdoor concerts, and more. Thankfully, our polo facility is able to accommodate all the special needs of each of these events. But, first and foremost, we are a polo farm. And with that in mind, we are very fortunate to have multiple arenas so we can practice all year round.

Arena Polo

Through the colder and darker winter months, we use our enclosed arena to practice. Called ‘arena polo’ the rules are very similar to field polo, with a few exceptions to account for the limited space and solid walls. There are several items to be aware of such as a change in the number of allowed players, how the line of play works when you’re working along the wall, etc. If you’ve never played polo at all, arena polo is a great place to start since you’ve got less space to chase the ball all over the field. It’s a slower game which also gives you plenty of time to catch up on the rules.

Don’t let the changing season keep you stuck inside. At Chukkar Farm, we play arena polo all winter long. Having this facility allows us to up our game when many other players have to take the season off for lack of facilities. Join us every Tuesday and Thursday for practice. Getting a leg up on the competition will give you the edge you need this spring when the competition season opens back up!

Please be advised that Polo matches and practices are not presently open to spectators.
